Hissing noise from glove box rear. 700 1988

When I shut down the engine on my 740 wagon with
manual climate control set to full cool (Florida
August). I get a hissing noise lasting for several
seconds which sounds as if it is coming from the
rear of the glove compartment. However if I do the
same shutdown procedure with the hood open I can hear
a hiss of similar intensity and duration from the region
of the air dryer for the a/c. Should I be looking for
a vacuum leak or is this normal.
