Hello,
I'm stumped! I can't figure out how I'm going to attach the current gas pedal of an old 444 to the SU6s on this B20 engine that I have used to replace the kaput B16. I seem to have linkage from the original 444, and linkage from a later 122, but can't seem to make heads or tails of any of it. I bought the car disassembled, so I don't even know how the original carb linkage was attached to the frame. I'm guessing it ran outside the firewall (inside the engine compartment). But the later B20 linkage was inside the car and exited into the engine compartment on the passenger side of the firewall (at least in 120 series). It seems I need to go with the later linkage (including gas pedal) and need to remove the heater assembly in order to pass the linkage along the firewall inside the car and then into the engine compartment from the passenger side. But has anybody a better method that leaves the heater chamber alone?
Can anybody direct me to pictures of an old 6-volt B16 444 that has been upgraded to a 12-volt B20? Pictures of the linkage, that is.
And i thought that adapting the newer manual clutch frame attachment was going to be the problem!
It would be much appreciated!
Thanks.
