Seafoam? Bad idea? Too late. 200 1984

Anyone here every put Seafoam in their crankcase? A friend recommended it to me, so I split a bottle between the tank and crankcase and drove for a couple of days. It started smoking a good bit - black smoke, looks a lot like what happens when your rings are shot. The trouble is, I changed the oil (couldn't deal with the smoke anymore), and, with only about a quarter of a tank left, refilled the tank to dilute the remaining seafoam to get it to stop smoking. It's been a few days and it still smokes.

Think I broke something? I've never used the stuff before and it's starting to worry me.

Thanks for your thoughts!
