? re brake work done 900

Hi folks,
Real basic question here:
had new rear rotors and pads put on my 965 last week, new rotors and pads in the front about 7 months ago. I brought the car in for the recent work because it seems to take a lot to make it stop: a lot of brake pedal travel, and a lot of distance; very little authoritative grab.
With the work "done" or at least paid for, I'm not noticing any improvement. Any suggestions (cable adjustments needed,etc)? Should I notice a change even?
