Runs really well sometimes, 'just ok' others 200 1986

Hi,

Thanks for answering my questions about clutch life/replacement parts.

You know, I've noticed that my car ('86 240 DL) runs very well sometimes, and just 'okay' at other times. On good days, it fires right up, idles smoothly, and has power to spare. Once in a while, it protests starting, idles rough and seems to have just enough 'juice' to get out of its own way but little more. No apparent rhyme or reason?

Thinking maybe a mixture issue, which would suggest air mass meter, o2 sensor, ECU or some combination thereof. Can I adjust the amm trim with LH 2.2?
