problem with m46 tranny 200 1984

I had to drop the tranny to install a new clutch release fork (the old one snapped at the ball joint inside the tranny). The tranny is now back in the car and everything is reconnected.

Now the problem: When I push in the pedal I am feeling alot of resistance. It doesn't feel natural, it feels as if it is binding. I have tried adjusting the tensioner on the tranny and there is no change in the feel of the pedal (just the height of the pedal from the floor). Its also very difficult put the car into gear, not sure if this is related to the clutch problem. I'm praying that I don't need to drop the tranny again. Any suggestions or things to look?

The car is an 84 242 with the m46
