A couple of weeks ago I had a starter failure that, when replaced, began a series of wiring failures: battery drain while the car was off, starter randomly starting while the car was driving. Now my exhaust is throwing black smoke. Given the fact that this happened in conjunction with the other wiring failures, I have reason to suspect it's still a harness issue. What could fail in the harness to cause a rich condition? The car idles a little rough, but still has basically as much power as it ever did, still handles the highway fine at 70. Maybe a short in the O2 sensor wire?
