Removing Ignition Switch without the Key? 444-544 1953

Is this possible? I am trying to install a used replacement coil and ignition switch. I do not have the ignition key and cannot remove the tumbler. My understanding is the brass pin that holds the tumbler into the ignition switch requires the key to be inserted and turned to the first position, before the brass pin can be depressed.

The brass pin will not move under pressure, so as a last resort, I plan to dremmel the brass pin, that should release the tumbler. I do have another ignition switch, with keys, that I plan to install, so this one is expedible.

Any thoughts before I get out the dremmel tool?
