Part of the driver's seat stopped operating today. At least, I think it was today. I am the only one who drives this car, so the seat position rarely changes.
However, I had the car washed, waxed, and vacuumed by a service that comes to my work location 3 days/week. I'm guessing that the guy moved the seat forward to better vacuum the back seat floors. Now, the seat won't move back.
Well, to be more exact, half of the seat won't move. When I push the switch the move the seat backward and forward, only the left side moves.
The car isn't undrivable, but the position it's stuck in in uncomfortably close to the steering wheel. I plan on attacking the problem this weekend, but I'd like to get some advice from you guys so I'm not going in blind.
What do y'all think I need to look for when I'm under there? Is there just one motor that moves the seat, indicating that the right side might simply be obstructed from moving for some reason? Is there a connection somewhere that is vulnerable and may have come loose or been severed?
I'll take any and all advice, hints, wild guesses, and crazy pontifications! I just got this car back from the shop, and I don't want toss it out there again! Even if I can just get the seat to move back to my comfortable position, i'll be happy. Once it's there, it won't need to move again as far as I'm concerned.
Thanks y'all,
Ryan
