Hi all,
Just got the 240 Bentleys yesterday (not sure what it means when your wedding anniversery present from your wife is a Volvo manual) but was disappointed in its innner tie rod section as in "nothing". They treat them as part of the rack and don't seem to really address R&R. Other parts of the book look great though so it will be my nightime reading for a few weeks.
Anyway here's my question: The driver's side inner tie rod on my car and the new one I just got from FCP Groton have no flats on the inner side closest to the rack - how are you supposed to turn it? The Brickboard FAQ references flats there for both ZF and CAM style inner tie rods and if you look at the pictures on several web sites that sell this part there are flats on the outside of the big part that holds the ball part. I don't have flats. I did get this rack rebuilt years ago and and it is clearly stamped ZF but it came with the CAM style inner tie rods (i.e., no rubber plugs on the outboard side). Can anyone enlighten me?
Thanks,
Robb McC
