Still weird electical problems 900 1997

Hey all,
I have a 1997 960:

I have this weird electrical problem that will not go away. I replaced the ignition switch and that didnt help. Now instead of the car sometimes turning on other times not turning on; the car all together will not turn on. It is an electrical problem I know that much.

What happens: while the key is in position 1, the lights in the car are on, like they should be when the door is open (also makes that annoying dinging sound too). However once the key is in position 2, the lights fade in and out, the warning panel lights do the same. I occasionally hear a clicking noise from underneath the dash to the left of the steering column. I took off those panels to try to identify where the clicking is coming from, it seems to be coming from a box where most of the wires from the dash enter. Its near where the fuses are, is whitish. When I try to turn the key to position 3, the lights fade even more and it is like the car is not getting enough power from the battery. I checked the fuses and they are all fine.

It essentially seems like the car is not getting enough power from the battery, but the battery is fine and works well in other cars when i tested it.

I am not sure what the problem could be and I already replaced the ignition switch but that was not the problem.

Any ideas?
