Hi,
Why does my '91 Volvo Turbo Wagon start ok in the morning but after sitting all day at work in 90+ temperatures, it will not start? We can go back to work around ten in the evening and the car will start right up. This happened last year at a gas station after filling up. A friend pounded on the gas tank and the car started. This technique did'nt work for me the last time I tried, so I'm not sure it's the fuel pump. The car started fine all winter! Could it be vapor lock?
We also lost our gas cap last year and since then have put one on that the gas station had recovered, although I don't think it's a Volvo cap. With the high price of gas, we also have switched to a locking gas cap.
Any ideas appreciated!
