Fuel injectors failure mode? 900 1993

Hi there,

Whats the typical failure mode of the injectors, or maybe rather how do I know when it's time to replace/clean them?
Patient is a 1993 945 B230FD with +440000 km (+270 kmiles), injecors never touched.
Is there any "typical" lifetime for the injectors, or is it a no-brainer to replace them at this mileage?
I've noticed that it doesn't run as smooth as it used to, could this be a sign?
