Tune up parts 200 1989

It's time to tune the 240, so I looked at what FCP Groton has to offer, and came away a little confused about air filters. They offer a Mann filter at $4.95, and a K&N filter at $45.00.

Any one know what makes the K&N filter 9 times the price of the Mann?
