Hi,
I am replacing the rotors on my 88 760 Wagon and one of the front hubs due to a worn wheel bearing.
I noticed that the sensor wheel on the other hub is very rusty to the point that most of the grooves are filled with rust. The manual says to clean with a soft brush. Well I am afraid that is not going to remove the rust in the grooves. Is it possible to remove this rust gently with a small tool or file or will I risk destroying the sensor wheel?
Is is OK to put a light film of lubricant on the new sensor wheel to prevent it turning into a mass of rust especially here in our Canadian winters? I was thinking of something like Waxoyl?
I am also replacing the flexible brake hoses that connect to the calipers, since the vehicle has almost 470,000 kms, I bought the stainless steel hoses from IPD, but noticed when I looked at them that the inside diameter of the hose is smaller then the original hoses? Will this cause any problems such as stiffer pedal pressure or more back pressure on the caliper pistons when the brake pedal is released?
Thanks,
Richard
