91 740 charcoal canister

a quick question for the experts - before I do something possibly really stupid...

the fat vaacuum hose on my throttle valve assemby is broken down by the radiator, and no indication of where the other piece goes. I asked an earlier question to the board about where this hose goes, and a gentleman replied possibly to the charcoal cannister.

my question is this...I see a cylinder shaped plastic part (about the size of a large tin can), immediately next to the windshield washer tank, on the drivers side, which has some hose connections - one thinner tube which goes to the throttle body. There is another tube which goes towards the back of the car, and what appears to be a hose to hose connector - with no hose attached. Is this the charcoal cannister??

I am about to connect the fatter flexible hose from the throttle body to this connector - but thought I should ask, in case I am about to have something unpleasant suck up into the throttle body and engine.

I checked the faq's and can find no info.

thanks
