Water Leaks 700 1986

I own an 86 740 turbo wagon which leaks like a sieve, especially in a hard rain like the ones we had last week along the eastern seaboard. My symptoms are soaked carpets and padding on the passengers side floor, front and rear. This weekend we had nice weather so I got into finding the leak and fixing it. I pulled up all the old carpet and padding. It was soaked, so I threw it away and will replace it. I pulled all the kick panels and plastic trim from the passengers side floor area. I read the 740/940 FAQ and looked carefully for worn/ missing grommets and clogged vents. Everything looks pretty good in there. I checked the firewall for holes and missing gaskets. I ran a hose into the front air vent for awhile to see if things leaked into the car. Nope. And so. I have decided to leave things torn apart for awhile because I do not think I have yet located the source of the leak.

If any list members have done this drill before and can offer some pointers, please let me know. No sense buttoning things back up till I am sure I have located and stopped the leak.

PS. I need a sunroof for this car...86 740 Turbo wagon, color (copper/red) manual or auto. Anyone know of a good pick and pull yard in Maryland?
