No-Start on a '91 245 200

Note: Crank position sensor on this car replaced about 5 years ago.

Daughter complained that the car failed to start a couple of times last semester. Battery cranked engine strongly, but no start. Both times it happened after the car had been sitting unused for several days. The next day it started.

Early this summer, it sat unused for a week, and failed to start. Spark looked a little weak (yellow), so I cleaned the primary wire connections on the coil and tried it again. It started immediately and every time for the next two months.

It is currently in my garage on jack stands, getting a clutch cable and master cylinder before she goes back to school. I tried to start it the other night and again, no start.

Spark is blue. It is firing at plug (so rotor is turning). Can hear external fuel pump when I turn on key, but jumped fuses anyway. Cranked while fuel pump was running. Still no start.

Filled tank to half full, just in case it is the internal tank pump or the pick-up hose. Still no start. Removed return hose from back of fuel pressure regulator, ran hose to a bottle, jumped fuses again. Plenty of fuel volume. Still no start.

Put OBD connector in Mode 3. All injectors click, as does the idle control BUT, I don't hear the fuel pump come on in test Mode 3.

Keep in mind that it started and drove into the garage on its own steam. All I did was jack it up and remove the clutch cable. I have a week and a half to get this thing running, or she will take my car and I will have to bicycle to work.

This is a bit of a head-scratcher.
