'Finned' differential vs. plain one 200 1982

I've got three '82 models. 244, 245, and a 264. The 245 and the 244 have a plain looking differential while the 264's differential has what looks like cooling fins made (cast?) into it.

Can someone tell me what the difference between these rear ends is?

Is it possible that the finned one is a limited slip?
