cant get the top nut on the motor mount tight (long post) 200 1990

Gentlemen,

First, I curse you AyeRoll for getting me to think I could pull off as many projects as you in a short time frame! A pox on you :-)

Second, the other day, I install a new reference sensor, new poly bushings on my p/s pump, and "new" injectors done by cruzinperformance.com all with no drama whatsoever. You may have the idea that I know what I am doing.

This morning I rotate my tires (a no brainer) -goes off without a hitch. I then decide to tackle the passenger side motor mount. Here comes the drama. To all you guys that say never jack the motor by the pan, you are oh so right!

Why I tried to do this (when I definitely know better), I could not tell you. And, to make me more of a total CRACKHEAD, I have read it here 1,000 times!!!

Today, I dented my f&^king oil pan -basically caved in the drain nut to the rear of the pan. I hope it'll come out the next time I have to do an oil change. You think Mobil-1 can go for an unlimited/forever oci (oil change interval)? Anyone have an extra oil pan for a b230?

Then, I figure out that I should use the trans. bell housing to jack up the motor. Great. Get the mount out and put the new one (disel type) in. The OEM mount came with new nuts but I am a crackhead, who doesn't smoke crack, so I put them to the side.

I start doing the nuts under the car, using the old nuts, no problem. I go to put on the final nut (on top of the motor mount's stud), it goes down, and will not really tighten. Semi snug is all I can get. It spins but doesn't go all the way down. Is this a once only nut?

Too late becaue I can't get it really tight nor can I back it off. I try to zip it off with an air ratchet, no luck. I cant get a screw driver under it for leverage upward. I make it as "semi snug" as possible and put a NEW nut on top -for extra crackhead luck.

I drove the car (very hard, why not?) and everything seems to be fine in the semi snug position with the extra nut on top. No extra noise, no shaking, no rattling, no extemporaneous engine movement. Your thoughts here?

Should I remove the alternator, take the entire bracket off, and either try to remove the nut (with better access, a vice, etc) or hacksaw the stud and get a new motor mount? What would you do?

Why are the holes in the NEW nuts oblong?

Thanks for reading. Any help is appreciated. And, any comments about my TOTAL stupidity will not be held aginst you!
