buying a 93 945T in Florida and driving back to New York - what should I bring / look for? 900

Hello,

I am buying a 93 945 Turbo with 89K on it in Florida and need to drive about 1300 miles back to NY. I will have it checked out by a Volvo mechanic before I purchase it, but thought that I should bring a few parts, in case. This car will replace my 86 745 with a M46 (225K). The 745 was bought new by my Dad and I have had it for 11 years. It still runs great, but the frame has some considerable rust that concerns me.

I plan to put as much $ into the 945 as necessary to make it as reliable as possible - we have two small children and don't want to be stuck on the side of the NJ turnpike.

What parts should I bring? Radio supression relay? Fuel pump relay? Ignition amplifier?

I have never driven a turbo or an automatic 700/900. Does anyone have suggestions on what to look for? (I have read the FAQ.) Also - how does one check that the shift lock release button works?

Thank you,
Steve
