Ecodes 200

I saw a post earlier about wanting to improve the headlights on the 240's. Ecodes are great for lighting the night. The turn signals that you buy to replace the stock ones are nicely done. There is also an option on the side marker lights. The Volvo insignia on the front fender can be removed and the mounting hole is there for the sidemarker lights. A lot of people wire this directly to the turn signal or just to the parking light terminal. Well you can actually wire the side lights to both. There is a diagram in the archives that show this. After completed your side marker lights come on with the parking and main headlights but they also blink when using the turn signal..With headlights on they blink on the off part of the signal putting them out of phase and looking really nice at night.
The side marker bulb socket is isolated from ground, and one bulb lead goes to the parking lamp positive circuit. The other lead is tied into the turn signal positive lead. When the parking/running lights are on and the turn signal off, it grounds throught the turn signal filament and illuminates the marker lamp. When the turn signal flashes, it interrupts the ground and the marker will flash. When the parking lights are off, the process is reversed, with the ground being through the filaments of the running light circuit, and the marker will flash in sync with the turn signal instead of alternately.. Here is the site.
