240 1991. Oil leak front of engine. I was sure it was cam shaft seal. But when I...

When i got everything down and out of the way, the cam shaft seal and the area around it appears bone dry.
I thought it was the cam shaft seal because I could see oil on the passenger side of the water pump before I took everything down.
However, once inside, the cam shaft seal is the dryest looking seal in the bunch.
The distributor shaft seal is clearly leaking. At least thats my conclusion. The seal, thanks to yours truly, is in there a tad bit cockeyed.

Now, there two plug looking thingys(each about 1" across), just below the cam shaft seal. Perhaps freeze plugs? Ive never noticed these before. could they leak?
Baring that, is there anyway for oil leaking from the distributor shaft seal to migrate to the passenger side of the water pump? Huh? Or am I graping at straws?

Thanks for any help.

Waiting...

Lawrence
