I recently posted a question regarding my Accessory lights being stuck on.
I suspected the ignition and not belt since ALL the Accessory lights were on. ?? I would have guessed the alternator light ONLY to come on; not all the lights. Is this typical?
As it turned out, my alternator belt had shredded and broke. This was a Gates I had purchased 2 1/2yrs ago and 24K KM (15K miles). I did a post-mortem on the belt and it was hardened and cracked so mode of failure was obvious. But that's LOUSY durability and I'll go with Contitech next time.
