I've got an easy one (hopefully) for someone out there that knows the fuel systems in the 90 740GLE (non-turbo). For starters, as in a previous post. Current AMM - while plugged in, no check engine light, and the cars hesitates, almost stalls, kicks in, hestitates, almost stalls, sometimes stalls, etc etc. but it always will start back up immediately. (doesn't make sense)
Unplug the currect AMM - runs in limp mode, at 1500 rpms, and shows check engine light for AMM related stuff (makes sense)
My mechanic had a tester AMM he keeps on hand, and he let me bring it home tonight to try it out on the car. I put it in, reset the diag. codes, and fired it up, with high hopes that the AMM was it.
The engine fired up to 1100 rpms for a split second, and then completely died back to 0 rpm and shut off. I waited a second, cranked it again, and it did the same thing. full start for a second or two, then right back off. the tach literally goes straight up, then right back down. (doesn't make sense)
unplug that AMM, and the same thing happens - limp mode, yada yada.
only other info I've got is that the codes, with the test AMM plugged in, gave me the 2-3-2 code, which has to do with injectors.
it's gotta be something simple - hopefully someone can 'fix' it for me
thanks in advance
