Has anyone found reasonable alternatives to the 86-93 240 rear lighting problems.

I think all 240 owners know this one. At least those that work on their own bricks.
It seems to boil down to that insane printed circuit gizmo. I get pissed off everytime I think about it.
Any retrofit type solutions. Or, are we stuck with the arrangement.

Anybody?
