Is PB Blaster safe on or near paint?

I've scoured the PB Blaster site and google, as well as my can of the miracle stuff, but can't seem to find out whether it's safe to use on or near car paint.

I'm attempting to remove 4 stubborn, rusted license plate screws from the hatch of my '89 740 wagon. I want to use PB Blaster to help loosen the screws, but i'm concerned about it harming the paint around the license plate.

Anyone used PB Blaster near your paint?
