Hi. I have a 1991 745 Turbo that cranks, has spark, but won't start. I have access to AllData, and I have performed EVERY diagnostic test in their books. I am down to being about 99% sure the Injection ECU is the faulty part. The ECU is not grounding the main system relay while cranking. The only question I need answered to verify this is that AllData states the ECU needs to see 6-9 volts from the engine speed sensor while cranking in order to power up the main system relay, and therefore fuse #11. On my car, the signal to the ECU from the Ignition module during cranking is 5.8 volts. I know that below a preset RPM, the ECU allows fuse #11 to go open so that no fuel spills in case of an accident. Is this voltage low enough to prevent starting? If so, then I need a speed sensor, if not, it's the ECU. Any and all help is greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Ken
