antenna mast will not pop out as per instructions in FAQ 700

Hi:

I'm trying to replace my antenna mast on my '90 745.

Power antenna, I have removed the fixing cap nut and the little plastic block that supports the antenna on the wagon pillar.

I have tried like 20 times to raise the antenna and pull it out, with and without assistance, and it will not budge!

I feel like I'm going to break something.

Possibly, the steel sleeve is corroded and stuck to the threaded piece that engages the fixing cap nut?

I've shot WD40 in there, no progress so far.

Help please. Thanx.
