A/C function seems to be tied to blower resistor (observation) 700 1991

Hi everyone:

I just wanted to post an observation: The blower motor resistor was shot on my '91 744 with manual A/C. Not only did this cause the blower to only operate on high speed, but the A/C compressor refused to come on. After replacing the resistor, all is well including the A/C function.
