7765ti...1987 alternator connections

Hi,

anyone have any pics of an alternator that goes in this car?

I want to find out the electircal conections on the alternator, regulator and what they do.

Example....

I know there is a D+
prolly a ground or two
sensor for the regulator

stuff like that....

any one goat a real world picture, and then a follow up schematic?

I read the stuff on here about checking the charging sytem, and it is great!
but, some of the connection points I am just not familiar with.....

my problem is...the battery needs to be jump started all the time, but the car doesn't die when driven long distances....(good thing)....so maybe it just needs a new battery....

I will know more when I pick up the car tomorrow.,.....but I just want to be prepared and check over the system.....

The service records show a new alternator, regulator and brush kit about 5k miles ago...

the regulator and brush kit what put in first.....then the alternator...

maybe the mechanic pulled the bad alt, put in the new one and didn't bother to transfer the regulator and brush kit...so the new kit is in the trash with the old regulator...I don't know

I would feel better checking out everything, and just being sure of the condition and operation of the WHOLE CHARGING SYSTEM!

Thanks in advance for the help....pics and schematic....then I will wade my way thru the stuff...

thanks!

big al
