Basic Maintenance Questions-ATF flush, plugs 200 1992

Couple quick questions. Thanks for putting up with my novice questions. The first one was buried in an earlier thread but I'm still curious:

1) After I did the ATF fluid flush, it read pretty close to the max level for the cold reading and seemed in about the middle for the "hot" range after the car had warmed up. How sensitive is the transmission if the level is too high? Just wondering if I need to check it a little more closely.

2)The spark plugs are due for a change. Is it really necessary to use a torque wrench?

Thanks again for all the useful help.

Jeff
