Rough idle/cut out 700 1986

Ihave just brought a 740 for $500AUD so I expected a few problems which the previous owner informed me of. One such problem, which comes and goes is when sitting at the lights or having stoped, is that on occasion it will start running rough and stall. it would appear that one cylinder is miss fireing. bring the revs up for a bit and it is back to normal. I had a look at the leads and made sure the contacts are clean but I still have the same problem.
Could this be an injector or timing problem?
