It's Done! (Dance of Joy) Front End. 200 1986

Thanks in no small part to the timely and most excellent post from Rule 308, Inga is back on the ground after two days on the blocks with new Tie Rod and Ball Joints on the Drivers side along with bushings on both sides. Also two new Boge struts in the front. I have a bad case of BFH and Torque Wench shoulder, sore legs, and trying this at 49. The four days of fall ended on Thursday and the suggestion for the fan by B C proved a must have tool, it was 95 out there. Rusty the shop fan was one of the important tools.

Stuts are hard to do (for me), and some one else will be doing those back ones (gotta know your limitations). Ball Joint and Tie Rod, not bad at all, even easy. Those Bushings on the lower control arm are a real b****. At least without a press or some other decent tool. The Dead Blow BFH method of removal and install is, well a pain in the shoulder and buttocks.

When Inga was road tested this afternoon she was like that little town in Germany, Goodntight. A total change in how she handles and rides. Need to get the front end aligned of course, so one more day of carpooling with my lovely spouse. Can't wait to get out there in the flow of traffic on the Beltway and see how she handles and rides at 70 to 80. Not that we ever go that fast on the Beltway.

Many Thanks for all the guidance, and I really have to order that Bentley before another effort like this one.

Regards,

PT

I gotta go take some more asprin, a hot bath, and go to bed.
