High consumption 940Turbo 900 1993

Of late the consumption was relatively high by about 10%. Consulted mechanics and getting more confused. Diagnosis could be (1) AMM (2) oxygen sensor and (3) fuel pump. (Trial and error approach will definitely cost me a bomb from experience). Both AMM and fuel pump had been replaced some years back. But the oxygen sensor is still original about 13 years with 130,000 miles and emission test show CO2 is within range. So, how best should I go about fixing the high consumption problem. Anything to do with sludge in the engine as I also noticed the oil is black 2 weeks after oil is changed
