940 as good as a 240 ? 900

I have had two 240's and have been very happy with them .
I'm now looking to get something basically "as good" , but as "new" as is available , so am looking at 940s ( non-turbo , non dual-cam ).

How are the 940s reliability and comfortwise vs early 90s 240 ?

The 940's look to me to be a 240 engine and tranny put into ( what will become ) an 850 body .

Any quirks with the 940s ( brakes, exhaust, electrics, suspension )?
Better or worse than the the 240s ? ( I'd think about the same )

Thanks for any and all opinions on the 940 !
