changing rear axle fluid on a IRS car 700 1988

How do I change the rear axle fluid on a 1988 760 with IRS? Is there a drain plug and fill plug and where are they located? What's a good fluid to refill with and is there any particular prodedure that needs to be followed? Would synthetic fluid be ok? Thanks for any help.
