Need help please! Oil light! 200

Hello all!!!

Once again I need to tap into your wisdom and any
help is definitely appreciated.

Wednesday I topped off my oil as I was a quart low.
In doing so i left the cap off of the valve cover and
drove the car at highway speeds for about 45 minutes total
before realizing what I had done as I got close to home.

I opened the hood to find my engine basted in oil.
Any of you who have seen this done know it is a mess.
So...I sprayed the engine compartment down with a lite
soap and water spray of my own making and then hosed down the engine
compartment. Then engine is nice and clean now as it was before.

I topped off the oil(about 1 qt), REPLACED THE CAP(lol),
and let the rest of the oil underneathe burn off by letting
the car run a while. Everything seemed great at this point!

Okay here's my problem!

I went to take my son to work and about a mile down the road
my oil light came on nice and bright. I dropped him off and
brought the car right back to the house.

I saw no wires disconnected, no vaccum hoses off, etc.

I restarted the engine and no light.
I let it run 15 minutes and no light.

New day:

I started it this morning with no oil light but as I got about a mile
from the house the light started to show very dimly. As I got to highway speed it was nice and bright so i took it very easy getting to work.

I checked the oil and it is still full with no sign of
any leakage. I looked around the engine compartment and
see nothing out of the ordinary.

I just started the engine again and no light but as I rev the engine
to higher RPM's it does start to show dim and then eventually did get
brighter.

I hear no taps, knocks, anything strange.
the engine sounds great!

This is a B21 engine I had replaced about 8 months ago and I
don't want anything to happen to it.

Could someone please give me some advice as what might be
going on here? I don't mind taking it to a mechanic if need
be but I thought someone here might be able to help me track this
problem down as maybe it was something simple I might have done
in cleanning off the engine.

Could the Flame Trap cause this??? It sits on top of the engine and all the
tubing was covered initially with oil.

Does the oil sensor work on oil pressure?
I do not have a pressure guage so i couldn't tell
you if it was higher or lower than normal.

Thanks for any help you all can give!!!

Cheers,

karl
