Good Evening Folks;
After messing about with my 740's O2 sensor this afternoon I decided to upgrade the OEM radio to a CD unit. Per the instructions on the FAQ's I removed the factory radio and the underdash amp. One by one I cut the factory wires and soldered / heat shrinked the new radio's wires in place. The factory radio plug has three light dimmer wires and two of these were capped off with a length of heat shrink tubing, the third one was connected to the lamp dimmer lead of the new radio. The radio works perfectly, but now my headlights don't work. What have I done wrong? Is there a shared ground somewhere. I have done this job at least 10 times before without any grief, but this is my first Volvo. I have tried unplugging the new radio, checking all my grounds, reconnecting the extra ground wires on the amp and the radio, no luck. Still no head lights. The parking lights work but when I switch over to the headlights the whole thing goes dead. No dash lights, no parking lights. I am stumped and ticked off.
HELP!
Regards;
