740 Cruise and Radio Wiring 700 1992

Good Evening Folks;
I bought a OEM cruise kit for my daughter's '92 740 on E-Bay and after installing it, discovered that it would not work. As my car has the A and B dignostic plugs under the hood, I ran the diagnostics and discovered that there was no speed sensor input. My Mitchell CD manual wiring diagram shows a green/orange wire for the speed sensor at the control module and that it goes up to the speedometer/cluster. Now, there is no green/orange wire connected to the instrument cluster and there is (1) empty male spade terminal right where Mitchell says it should be. It has tracer marks on it so at one time it had a connector attached. The FAQ pages mention a yellow wire that is supposed to be the speed sensor. Are the newer cars different, or does the green/orange wire at the control module change colour to yellow on route up to the cluster? To complicate matters there IS a green/orange wire that runs to one of the speakers at the aux stereo amplifier. I removed this unit last weekend when I upgraded the OE radio to a CD unit.
Once again, any help would be appreciated.

Regards;
