I just completed replacing the driver’s side REAR brake caliper on my ‘89 240 after the old one began leaking brake fluid. (The BRAKE FAILURE warning light also came on immediately when the caliper failed.)
What steps (if any) in the brake bleeding procedure can I eliminate? (Since I didn’t open the front brake system). Can someone tell me the proper sequence to bleed the brakes? (i.e., right front top, left rear top, left front, etc.)
One more thing: I don’t have the pressurized tank bleeding tool...so I’m going to use an assistant to depress the brake pedal...but I don’t want to destroy the master cylinder by depressing the brake pedal too far during the bleeding process....any helpful hints would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
