760 turbo died and will not start 700 1990

I have owned volvos since 1989 and have gone through about 6 of them. All were 700 series except for 1. most of the time I have been able to sort out the problems, but this one has me stumped. The other night I was on my way home and it just shut down. Thankfully, I was able to coast home. I checked the timming belt and it's ok. I'm not getting any power to the coil but I don't know where to go from here. everything else seems ok, but I don't have a way to check the codes. I've also tried to find wiring diagrams on line with no success.
Any suggestions?
