roof rack removal question 700 1990

Hi,

I have decided to remove the roof rack from my '90 745 wagon.

Removed the 4 screws, then the rack.. however those nuts which are inside the roof, how one supposed to take them out? They are loose inside the roof. I have put the screws back into them, if not they would roll away.
And my plan was to put some kind of plugs.
Any suggestion or comment is welcome!
