inadequate low beams on 82 200

I am finding my low beams really inadequate and wondered if anybody had found a good replacement lens/bulb/whatever for the standard sealed beams [low beams only]. I tend to run the car on highs at night even though it must be a pain for oncoming drivers. It is so easy to over drive these lights on a dark, rainy highway.
