Hi all,

The past week or two I have been hearing a hiss from under/in/behind the dashboard. I only hear this under load... I guess while cruising on the highway too.

At the same time, I have realized thatmy cruise control steadily fades from the set speed. Will fade 1 mph every few seconds. Since I think the cruise is vacuum controlled, I'm guessing these two are related.

Observations:

*this cruise system seems different than my 940.
*most of the mechanicals seem to be located near the accel pedal
*saw a recent post about the vacuum check valve on the intake going bad. (4" long hose with plastic component and 90° tube.
* 2 hours after turning off the car I still had good vacuum when I disconnected that tiny vacuum line that runs to the check valve.


This weekend I'm going to stick my head under the dash but before I do are there any usual suspects or anything to look for?
