hooray wet cold weather. along with it comes my electrical problems. the car will idle if no lights/defrost or anything else electrical is running. with lights on at idle the engine dips to about 500 rpm almost stalls then returns to normal, dips, returns etc..... the dip is especially pronounced when i first step on the clutch to slow for a stop sign or such, the car will almost stall. i can hear the fuel pump whine dip with the rpm, like its not getting enough juice. the more electrical stuff thats running the more pronounced the dip is. i tightened the grounds on the battery, the batt is about 2-3 years old, and the alternator was rebuilt the year before last. here's the kicker. i have a stereo and amplifier running directly from the battery. Having it on doesnt seem to really affect the idle one way or another. any ideas? does it sound like an alternator thats slowly crapping out? anyone experienced this before? maybe bad grounds? thanks for any help!
