late 945 or 965 purchase 900

Well I'm looking to get back into volvos. I had a 91 744 and a 93 944 that I was forced to sell living up north in Minnesota (RWD and 40 mile commute in snow/ice doesnt' work well).

Relocating to AZ and I want to get a 900 wagon. Wich is going to yield me the best MPG or performance. Looking at a 965 or a 945 both 1993 or newer. I know they stopped making the redblock before the 965 morphed into the s90.

Which will be more reliable and/or have more mpg and performance?

I know the pitfalls of the 960 with the timing belt and cooling system requiring on time maint, but any comments from fellow bricksters is appreciated.
