Hi, all.
According to the login, I've been away since 1969. Hmmm. That's older than my car.
Old faithful has two new problems. I don't think they're related.
Problem 1
After driving for a while, warmed up, and all, when I come to a stop, the idle is too high, like 1500-1800. If I shut down in this state I experience a very hard start with rough idle and reluctantcy for a minute until I can nurse the revs up and then all's well. If I wait until the idle settles down, maybe 1-3 minutes, before shutdown, startup is normal. This only happens when the car 'takes a notion.' Most of the time it's A-OK. Any suggestions as to what's going on?
Problem 2
My oil pressure guage pegs out and twitches. Only thing I can think is that I may have knocked loose or jiggled something when I replaced the alternator tension screw and block. Thoughts?
Thanks ahead for your feedback. I'm a lonely 240 wagon owner in the land of the pick-up truck.
