Odometer fix 200 1991

For the last several months I had been having problems with my '91 244 odometer/trip meter. It would work for maybe a mile or two when starting out each day. It would then stop and work only intermitently for a total of about three or four mile over the hundred or so miles I put on the car each day. The pod gear checked out fine. I cleaned all contacts in hopes of getting it going again. No luck.

Over the weekend I pulled the cluster again and resoldered the (+) and (-) contacts (blue and white wires) to the odometer motor. Now the odometer and trip meter are working fine.
Anyone with similar symptoms might want to try this fix. Good luck.
