740 GLE Sunroof stuck open 700 1989

I've just acquired a 740 GLE so haven't had time to get hold of a manual for it. The sunroof opened part way then stopped, a clicking comes from the drive motor area when the pushbutton is operated, but no movement either way.

Any tips on getting it closed? With the cover off the motor the headlining does not give much access, so I just wondered if there's an easy way to do this before I start cutting the liner.

Should I have a manual winder key that fits the end of the spindle visible when the cover is off?
